Salvia
greggii 'Pink Preference'
'Pink Preference' Salvia was found and named by Logan Calhoun west of
Waco, Texas. It is a well shaped, exceptional bloomer, with hot pink
flowers. This is a very hardy perennial that takes full sun and tolerates
our hot, dry summers. It blooms throughout the summer and is
especially showy in the fall. For us it grows 24 to 30" with a
rounded shape.

Myrica cerifera 'Wintergreen'
Wintergreen Wax Myrtle was found in Le Flore County, OK by Logan
Calhoun. It was selected from a native stand and is very cold
hardy. It has proven to be cold hardy to -16° F and shown no winter
damage. Wax Myrtle is a broadleaf evergreen shrub growing 10 to 12'
or can be trimmed as a small tree growing to 15' .

Maclura pomifera 'Whiteshield'
'Whiteshield' Osage Orange was found by John Flick for us in Custer
County, OK at Whiteshield Creek. It is named after a Cheyenne chief.
This Bois d'Arc grows rapidly and has a more upright, vase shaped habit
than most of the species. It has dark green leaves and is fruitless and thornless, even
as a young plant. 'Whiteshield' excelled in the Bois d'Arc trials at
Kansas State University.

Cephalanthus occidentalis 'Sputnik'
Steve Bieberich found this Buttonbush in a native stand in northern
Washita County, OK. It blooms in mid-summer and has larger white flowers. It has a nice form and glossy foliage. 'Sputnik' makes a
very large bush, 8-12'.
